These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ScanMint AI mobile application (the "App"), operated by AWS NextGen IT LTD ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

ScanMint AI is a document scanning and productivity application that lets you scan documents with your device camera, create and manage PDFs, sign documents, generate QR codes and barcodes, convert speech to text, and use related tools. Documents you create are stored locally on your device.

2. Accounts

• Some features require an account. You must provide a valid email address and keep your account information accurate.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping access to your email secure.
• An account may be signed in on a limited number of devices at once; signing in on a new device may end sessions on other devices.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the App.
• You may delete your account at any time in the App's settings or by contacting us.

3. Subscriptions, Purchases & Ads

• Premium subscription. The App offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions ("Premium") that unlock premium tools and remove ads. Prices are shown in the App before purchase.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google; refund requests are handled by them under their policies.
• Rewarded ads. Free users may unlock certain tools temporarily by choosing to watch a rewarded advertisement. Ad availability is not guaranteed.
• Changes. We may change subscription pricing or included features prospectively; changes will not affect a period you have already paid for.

4. Your Content

• You retain all rights to documents, scans, signatures, and other content you create or process in the App ("Your Content").
• Your Content is stored locally on your device. We do not access, upload, or store Your Content on our servers, and we are not responsible for loss of Your Content — please keep your own backups of important documents.
• You are solely responsible for Your Content and must have the legal right to scan, store, sign, and share it.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including forging signatures or falsifying documents;
• Infringe the intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App except as permitted by law;
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, licensing, subscription, or advertising features of the App;
• Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair our services or those of our providers.

6. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, in accordance with these Terms and the applicable app-store rules. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by AWS NextGen IT LTD. The App, including its design, code, trademarks, and branding, remains our property or that of our licensors.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services including Google Firebase (authentication, analytics, crash reporting), Google AdMob (advertising), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Apple/Google (payments, speech recognition). Your use of those services through the App is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, including websites opened from QR codes or links.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scan quality, conversions, or speech-to-text output will be accurate. The App is not a substitute for professional, legal, or notarial services, and electronically signed documents may not be legally valid in all jurisdictions or for all document types — verify requirements before relying on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AWS NEXTGEN IT LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, DOCUMENTS, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR TEN US DOLLARS (USD $10) IF YOU HAVE PAID NOTHING. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. Sections 4–9 and 11–13 survive termination.

11. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App, add or remove features, or update these Terms from time to time. Material changes to the Terms will be announced in the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We may require you to update to the latest version of the App to continue using it.

12. Apple App Store Terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and AWS NextGen IT LTD, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; in case of the App's failure to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation; Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the App; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-party list. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the extent not covered by these Terms.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the competent courts of England and Wales, except where the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer protections and venue rights, which remain unaffected.
